New year, new beginnings:

Updated: Dec 21, 2021

After having worked as a Diploma Course Tutor for the British Wheel of Yoga for 20 years and having taught 6 three-year Yoga Teacher Training courses, the last few being level 4 Ofqual certificated, meaning the equivalent of a one-year full-time University degree, I have decided to leave the BWY.

I found it harder to find the spirit of Yoga in that organisation, so I feel it is time to go out and represent the Spirit of Yoga. Yoga is an ancient Indian discipline, worldview and path. Those Indians, active in Yoga, did and do believe that life has the purpose to evolve spiritually. They lived it, practised it and left testimonies on how to do it. Those testimonies, ancient Yoga instructions are seen as important in the modern Yoga world, but only as one subject of Yoga, unconnected from our practice and way of life.

It is those old Yoga instructions, the Upanishads, the Bhagavad Gita, Patanjali Yoga Sutras and the Hatha Yoga Pradipika, to name the most important, I would like to highlight as the guidelines for those who want to walk the path of Yoga.

Therefore, instead of working for the BWY, I have founded my own Yoga School which I have named: Gift of India Yoga School

Together with other Yoga teachers who I trained, we will offer Yoga classes at all levels, workshops, one to one, foundation training, teacher training and CPD for Yoga Teachers, all in the Spirit of classical Yoga. Our base is my Yoga Cabin in Exmouth, but we spread over the South West.

Exciting times!

I feel privileged to be a student of The Gift of India Yoga School and its first TTC.

It is a blessing to be guided by Angela's enthusiasm, knowledge, experience and wisdom.

May the message of the Spirit of Yoga be represented and shared.

S.
